South Africa currently has a severe skills shortage and requires a large numbers of skilled personnel to meet current and future requirements.
Global Migration SA has an employment placement service which links skilled professionals with companies which are looking for staff. If you have the Quota List skills or any other skills and would like to work in South Africa, please forward your contact details and CV toleon@globalimsa.com
In order to address this shortage, the government allows foreign citizens to apply for jobs either directly or through their prospective employer in South Africa, in a number of categories. The categories are :
* General Work Permit
* Exceptional Skills
* Intra Company Transfer
* Corporate Permit
* Spousal Permit
* Visitor with limited permission to work (short projects)
* Quota Permit
The quota work permit list is published annually by the government and for 2008/9 it is as below.
This DOES NOT limit the number of applicants or assess the number of jobs available, but merely sets out positions available via this type of application for these positions. If an applicant does not fall within these categories they may apply in any other category.
All positions on the Quota List require an appropriate qualification (to be evaluated by SA Qualifications Authority), 5 years experience and registration with a professional body where required.
QUOTA LIST

Qualifications Authority.
* Registration with relevant professional body where applicable.
* At least 5 years relevant experience.
Once a person meets these minimum requirements, a full application for Quota Work Permit can be submitted to the Deaprtment of Home Affairs Information and organisation professionals
